MY ACADEMIC JOURNEY
Dr. Long started his higher educational journey Columbus State University.  Here, Dr. Long served his community & university with over 500 hours of volunteer service through CSU’s Servant Leadership Program, and by leading as Student Body President from 2012-2013.  He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology, a Certificate in Servant Leadership, as well as several awards including CSU's highest award granted to a student - The Faculty Cup - in 2013. 
MEDICAL TRAINING
From there, Dr. Long went on to Mercer University School of Medicine where he earned his Doctor of Medicine with a distinction in community service in 2017.  After graduation, Dr. Long completed his Pediatrics Residency in San Antonio, Texas at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium where he subsequently completed a fellowship in Sleep Medicine to help people of all ages with their sleep.
PRESENT
Ben is board-certified in both general pediatrics and sleep medicine, but treats people of all ages for sleep problems (from infants to the elderly). He holds an appointment as an Assistant Professor at the F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine at the Uniformed Services University (On Sabbatical, AY 25 - 28). Dr. Long's academic interests are diverse to include an array of pediatric sleep medicine topics, the intersection of theology with medicine, resident wellness, and medical professionalism.
